Whatever the extent of political and public criticism of his tenure as Home Affairs Minister the ruling PPP/C is unlikely to let go of Clement Rohee

Clement Rohee has become used to questions being raised about his suitability to serve as a Cabinet Minister. Those questions have not troubled him in the least. He understands much better than his critics that the political party in government, the party to which he remains loyal has its own yardstick with which to determine how it treats with its own. Rohee may not be the Republic’s most favoured public official but he is, unquestionably, one of the PPP’s favoured sons, one of its political heavyweights; and that is what counts.
