Support for Uncle Eddie’s: Uncle Eddie’s Home is extending gratitude to two overseas donors in conjunction with the Allied Organisation of Guyana and the USA for the receipt of several electronic items and four walkers. In a press release the geriatric home said on September 20 it received one 32-inch flat screen television, one play station, a computer system and the walking aids through Eustace and Kathleen Bowen, of Brooklyn, New York.
After 50 years of living overseas, the donors’ daughters: Paula and Sherry, travelled to Guyana to make the donation in their late father’s memory. To further recognise his contributions, a plaque was mounted and unveiled at the home. Eustace Bowen was the co-founder and first secretary of the Organisation. Uncle Eddie’s has been associated with the Allied Organisation since 1973 and is considered one of its Guyana projects.
