Two men die in horrific Mahaicony accident

Two men died this afternoon when their vehicle collided with a truck along the Mahaicony Public Road sometime around 5 pm.

The dead men have been identified as Mohamo Haimnauth and Ray Haimnauth. Omesh Haimnauth was injured in the accident.

The vehicle in which the two were travelling was contracted to the Ministry of Agriculture.

Agriculture Minister, Leslie Ramsammy, told Stabroek News that the contractors had been in the area working at the Hope Canal.  However, today they were engaged in repairs to the Mahaicony road which was flooded as a result of  persistent rainfall.

The accident occurred while the contractors were travelling back to Georgetown.
