A fee of six thousand dollars will now be charged for marriage licences, based on a recommendation made by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Home Affairs Minister Clement Rohee told reporters at a press conference recently that in the past there was no fee charged for two persons who are being married in Guyana. He said that this new development received approval from Cabinet.
