A policeman is under close arrest after the car he was driving along the Charity public road on Monday ran over a man who was lying on the roadway and killed him.

Dead is Thakoordial Jaisiri, 65, of Charity Housing Scheme, Essequibo Coast.
In a press release issued yesterday, police said they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death which occurred around 19:10 hrs.
