Pavilion toss victim fractured spine -autopsy

A post-mortem examination performed on the body of Ganesh Rattan by Pathologist Dr Nehaul Singh on Monday revealed that he died as a result of a fractured spine, according to the police.

In a press release, police also said that two men have been arrested and are in custody assisting with the investigations in relation to the incident.

Rattan, 33, of Number 10 Mahaica, East Coast Demerara (ECD) was among a group of men drinking at the Strathavon Pavilion, at Cane Grove, ECD, on Sunday last. He became involved in an argument with one of the men at around 4 pm, during which he was thrown from a stand in the pavilion to the ground and he succumbed immediately.

Relatives said that they received the message about Rattan’s death from his best friend ‘Tatty’ and they immediately got the police and went to the scene where they discovered his body lying on the ground.
