Two Chinese companies in the running for key Linden water rehab project

Six companies yesterday each submitted bids for the Guyana Water Incorporated (GWI) Linden Water Supply Rehabilitation Treatment and Storage works and Booster Stations.

The companies, including two from China, have bid for works to improve water supply in Linden—a project that is being funded by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). Under the US$12.3 million project, there will be infrastructure rehabilitation interventions to the water supply network necessary to meet current and future water demands in the mining town.

The companies that bid for the project are the China Jiangsu Construction Group ($15,098,000,000); China Light Industrial Corporation ($US 9,905,199); Project Engineering Consultant Ltd in collaboration with Oil Field and Marine Sales and Services Ltd ($2,077,711,090); R Bassoo & Sons Construction in collaboration with Dynamic Engineering Company ($1,152, 123, 317); B.K international Inc in collaboration with Water Tech Ltd ($1,731,212, 151); and U.E.N Inc ($1, 787, 912, 723.40).

Meanwhile, only two companies submitted bids for the procurement of drugs and supplies for opportunistic infections, sexually-transmitted infections and home-based care, under the Ministry of Health.  The bids submitted were by Health International Inc (US$23, 820.09) and IPA ($US 147,565.55.)
