Security guard killed in Enmore

A 60 year old man was found tied up with his throat slashed early this morning at an Enmore shop where he was employed as a security guard.

Investigators believe that Rudolph Narine called `Boy’ of Logwood, Enmore, was confronted by burglars who broke into the shop and carted off a quantity of items.

Reports reaching Stabroek News are that around 6.30 am the body was found beside the building. There are suspicions that the man may have known his attackers.

Police investigations are continuing into this latest murder to have rocked the East Coast Demerara community.

Earlier this month the bound and bloodied body of Diamond Housing Scheme taxi driver, Rajendra Puran, was found in a drain at Logwood, Enmore. Though the man’s car is missing, Crime Chief Seelall Persaud had said that from all indications it was not a carjacking gone wrong.

He said that police are looking for some persons that the man was known to have been associated with.

Several raids have been conducted as part of the investigation but the police are still to identify a suspect.
