Attempted murder accused remanded

Kaleen Shaw was yesterday remanded to prison when he appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court on an attempted murder charge.

The court heard that on May 12 at Brickdam, the accused, with intent to commit murder, wounded Troy Brutus. Shaw was unrepresented and was not allowed to plead to the indictable charge.

Police Prosecutor Tracymay Gittens objected to bail citing the seriousness of the offence and the fact that the virtual complainant was still hospitalized.
Shaw was remanded and is scheduled to return to court next Monday.
