NDIA invites bids for construction of Friendship sluice

The Ministry of Agriculture’s National Drainage and Irrigation Authority (NDIA) has invited bids for the construction of a sluice at A Dam Friendship, East Bank Demerara, estimated at a cost of $88.5M.

The NDIA also advertised in the Guyana Chronicle for bids for construction of control structures, also at Friendship, and estimated to cost some $3,664,080.

It is also seeking suppliers for the procurement of Tools and Safety Gears for the NDIA in two lots, estimated at $4,260 000 and $6,280,000.

Invitations for bids for Transportation of fuel and lubricants for the NDIA, in regions 3, 4 and 5 were divided into three lots and estimated at $414,500 for the first, $263,000 for the second and $226,500 for the third. The ad indicated that the monies quoted were for all trips in the specified region.

It stated that bidding will be conducted through the national competitive bidding procedures specified in the Procurement Act and that inspection of the bidding documents and obtaining further information from the Office of the Chief Executive Officer of the NDIA can be done between 8am and 4pm from Mondays through Thursdays and between 8:30Am and 3:30pm on Fridays.

The bidding documents can be uplifted from NDIA’s office in the Ministry of Agriculture building at Regent Street, Georgetown. Bidders would, however, have to pay a non-refundable fee of $5,000 in favour of the Permanent Secretary for each bid document.

Deadline for tenders is at 9AM on July 10, 2012. Late tenders will be rejected. Bidders are reminded that certificates of compliance from the National Insurance Scheme and the Commissioner of the Guyana Revenue Authority and a bid security amounting to the value specified in the bid document must be supplied.
