Canada-based Guyanese launches book of poetry, inspirational writings

The Break of Dawn, a collection of poetry and writings by Guyanese author Janet John-Dorie was launched yesterday at the National Library.

The book, John-Dorie’s first, has been in the making for over two years and it is based upon her observations of people while travelling in Canada.

John-Dorie hopes to impact the lives of her readers through the articles in the collection, which emphasise the importance of enhancing the self through spiritual values in life while giving an insight into who we truly are.

She said it had always been her dream to have her own book by the age of 60. She noted that she has always enjoyed writing, finding satisfaction from putting her thoughts into words. Her book will be on sale at Fogarty’s for the cost of $1,000.
