More Grade Six top performers

Twelve-year-old Ricardo Singh of Providence Primary who placed 32nd with 536 marks in the National Grade Six Assessment said he felt “very good” about his success.

The boy who hails from Grove, East Bank Demerara described the exam as “not too hard neither easy”, during a telephone interview with this newspaper yesterday. This aspiring doctor says he is very pleased that he has gained a place at Queen’s College (QC) and attributes his success to his teacher and parents. His advice to other students who are preparing to write the exams next year is to study hard.

Surendra Gocool, 541 marks, Kawall Primary said “I am very excited that I placed amongst the top ten and I expected to do so because I worked hard for it. I hope to become a Civil Engineer and love science. For my exams I prepared very hard and without my parents’ help I would not have made it. I would credit my success to God and the teachers of Kawall Primary. I would say that the exams were a bit challenging and would say to everyone out there that with hard work we can achieve anything”.
