A 27-year-old man was yesterday hospitalized after he was stabbed by his cousin who he tried to counsel.

Injured is Damion Moore of Non Pariel, East Coast Demerara, who is currently a patient at the Georgetown Hospital where he is receiving treatment for two stab wounds to his abdomen.

Sources stated that Moore was stabbed after he tried to counsel his cousin who was arguing with his grandmother. The sources stated that Moore’s cousin went to uplift his grandmother’s pension and upon his return his grandmother gave him some of the money.

However, the cousin was not satisfied with the sum he received and as a result he began to quarrel.

Moore who heard the argument then went to investigate and tried to calm his cousin in the process.

The cousin then became angry and dealt Moore two stabs to his abdomen.

The police are currently investigating the matter.
