A Victoria Street, Plaisance family nearly lost their home after a mattress caught fire early yesterday afternoon resulting in minor damage to the house.
The blaze was restricted to the rear bedroom and the Guyana Fire Service was summoned and they assisted in putting out the fire.
When Stabroek News arrived at the scene family members declined to give details about the damage.
