Police say man shot at Kaneville after he attacked with ice-pick

Police say that at about 1330h yesterday, James Hutson, 40, also known as James Emmanuel was shot in his right foot at Kaneville, East Bank after he attacked a law enforcer with an ice-pick.

Police said they responded to a report that Hutson was in a Grove shop attempting to rob a customer.

“The police later confronted James Hutson in a yard at Kaneville Access Road, EBD, and during efforts to arrest him (he) attacked the police with an ice-pick, causing the police to resort to the use of force and he was shot to his right foot. He has been admitted a patient under guard at the GPHC”, police said. A statement added that Hutson was wanted for questioning by the police in a robbery that occurred on Monday where it reported that he robbed Richard Dazell of Grove Housing Scheme of $15,000 at Grove, EBD.
