Minister within the Agriculture Ministry Ali Baksh paid a courtesy call on Essequibo resident Ramjohn Mohamed Khan in honour of his 100th birthday on August 16.
According to a Govern-ment Information Agency (GINA) press release Khan was given the Medal of Service Award during LFS Burnham’s presidency for his stellar management of the Co-op Society in Essequibo. Khan, who has been the Imam at the Aurora masjid for a number of years, is also a retired rice farmer.
He is a father of 13 children, 41 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren and 57 great-great-grandchildren.
