Porter remanded on simple larceny charge

A young man was yesterday remanded on the charge that he stole a wheel planetary.

Porter Leslie Watson, 18, of 63 Kuru Kuru College, Linden/Soesdyke Highway, appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton, at the Georgetown Magis-trates’ Court on a charge of simple larceny.

It is alleged that Watson, between August 23 and 24, stole a wheel planetary valued at $120,000 and which was the property of Sukdeh Persaud.

No details on what transpired on the day in question were presented to the court.

The prosecution objected to bail on the grounds that Watson provided a different address when he was questioned by the police on the day of the allegation.

The magistrate subsequently denied bail for Watson and the case was transferred to Court One for October 3.
