QC student secures 12 Grade Ones instead of 11

Queen’s College student, Rosanna Bisnauth, gained 11 Grade Ones and three Grade Twos at the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) exams this year, according to the initial report.

However, this 16-year-old Good Intent, West Bank Demerara, resident said she wrote 15 subjects, but only received grades for 14 subjects since her Mathematics grade was missing.

She stated that she contacted her headmistress who had the issue sorted out, resulting in her obtaining 12 Grade Ones instead of 11.

The vibrant Rosanna related to this newspaper during a telephone interview that her success came through a lot of sacrifices she made while preparing for the exams.

She said that her leisure time had to be reduced to facilitate studying late at nights. In describing the exams, Rosanna said she felt confident about the results in most of the subject areas, except for Mathematics which was a bit challenging.

Rosanna also said that she would like to acknowledge God, her parents and all of her teachers for assisting her.

Meanwhile, Rosanna is now planning to pursue studies at the Caribbean Advance Proficiency (CAPE) level and then she would more than likely pursue a career in medicine or dentistry at the University of Guyana.
