CD vendor injured in accident

An accident on the New Amsterdam Public Road on Monday has left a man severely injured.

Nezam Bacchus called ‘Nezo’, 30, a CD vendor of Bush Lot, West Coast Berbice was admitted to the Georgetown Public Hospital.

When Stabroek News spoke to the victim’s father Mr Bacchus (only name given) he noted that he was not at the scene of the accident, but his son had told him that he was going across the river to buy some items at New Amsterdam. He added that he did not know how the accident occurred but learnt that it was just opposite the New Amsterdam Public Hospital. “I heard that he was riding his motorcycle along the road going east when a car came out of the alley and struck him down,” the father added.

The father said his son sustained a broken hand and foot.
