Paramakatoi dorm, Enmore/Hope school to be completed by weekend

The Ministry of Education says while work on the dormitory at Paramakatoi, and the Enmore/Hope school has been delayed; there was an excellent turn out for the new school year.

Chief Education Officer Olato Sam said the enrolment numbers indicate that parents are recognising the importance of enrolling their children in school, according to a Government Information Agency (GINA) press release.

Sam noted that while work had been completed at several schools, the contractor on the Paramakatoi dorm had informed the ministry that he had been experiencing some challenges transporting the materials into the region. However, he hopes the building would be completed by weekend. He added that the dormitory at Mahdia is in a much better condition than the one in Paramakatoi.

In Region Four the Enmore/Hope school is the only one that is still incomplete though work is expected to be finished in another week. Sam said no construction will be done during class hours but over the weekend. “We have made a concerted effort to ensure all our schools are structured in a way that any work that needs to be done can go on without hampering the students’ instruction,” he said.
