Banks DIH linesman on bail over alleged phone theft

David Hendricks, who is alleged to have stolen a BlackBerry smart-phone, was yesterday released on $75,000 bail after he pleaded not guilty to a simply larceny charge at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

It is alleged that Hendricks, 18, who is employed at Banks DIH as a linesman, and of Lot 344 Cummings Park, Sophia, stole a BlackBerry Torch valued at $150,000. The phone was the property of Torrid Abel.

No details of the alleged theft were presented to Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry.

With no objections from the prosecution, Hendricks was granted bail and will make his next court appearance for a hearing in the case on October 10 in Court One.
