Millions carted off by bandits from Western Union

Bandits carted off millions of dollars in cash from the Western Union outlet at Survival Supermarket on Sheriff Street on Monday.

The bandits reportedly broke into the building and held up the security guards who were on duty at the time. A source reported that after the thieves had tied up the guards, they then proceeded to break the safes and removed the cash.

When contacted yesterday, the Store Manager of the supermarket said that he would not comment on the issue until the police are finished with their investigations.

He said that he is still unable to state the exact amount of cash that was stolen but noted that it was a substantial amount. The police are currently investigating the matter.
