A mother of three was last evening stabbed to death allegedly by her partner bringing an end to eight years of domestic violence.
Dead is Allison Bowen age 42 of Lot 1 Goedverwwagting, East Coast Demerera. She sustained about fourteen stab wounds and died on the spot. The suspect has been hospitalised after apparently ingesting poison.
Stabroek News was told that the woman was repeatedly stabbed by the man after she refused to consume rat poison he was trying to feed her.
Earlier in the day the two had a violent confrontation during which Bowen sustained an injury to the head. A report had been made to the police about that incident but when the ranks visited the man had already left.
He returned later in the day and stabbed her to death. Her sister was also injured.
