Autopsy on Canadian deferred again

The autopsy scheduled to be performed on Canadian, Jean Pierre Le Blanc, who was shot in the  buttocks when Ricardo Rodrigues was gunned down on October 15th and who died suddenly last Friday at the Georgetown Public Hospital was again postponed  yesterday to Friday.

It was first scheduled for last Monday then yesterday’s date was given. It has been confirmed by the police that it will be done tomorrow.

Officials at the hospital yesterday morning told Stabroek News that they were confused as word was given to take the body out of the freezer in preparation for the autopsy but police later called to say that it was once again postponed.

Meanwhile, the Canadian High Commission yesterday stated that it was paying keen attention to Le Blanc’s death and assisting information gathering.

“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of a Canadian who passed away in Guyana. Canadian consular officials are in contact with local authorities to gather additional information and are providing consular assistance to the family” said an official of the Canadian High Commission.
