Salim Bacchus wanted in connection with Berbice cop murder

Police this afternoon expressed an interest in Salim Bacchus, in connection with the execution of Berbice narcotics Detective Constable, Jirbahan Dianand.

Dianand was found with a gunshot wound to the head in his car on September 14.

According to a wanted bulletin, Bacchus called ‘Black Salim’ of Lot 139 Line Path `D’ Corriverton, Berbice is wanted for questioning in relation to that murder investigation.

Bacchus made headlines in November last year after he and several others were charged in relation to an 82-pound cocaine bust at Skeldon.

In May this year, he was the last to be freed.

The Director of Public Prosecutions, hours after his release, appealed the dismissal. It is unclear what has become of that appeal.
