Re-trial set for man accused of hacking wife to death

The re-trial of Dwayne Jordan, who is accused of hacking his wife to death, will begin today before Justice Navindra Singh in the High Court.

A jury was unable to reach a unanimous verdict on Jordan when he was tried last year before Justice Roxane George.

The prosecution will present its opening address to the judge and jury in today’s session, after which the trial will begin.

Jordan is accused of hacking his reputed wife, Claudine Rampersaud, to death on June 14, 2007 at Den Amstel, West Coast Demerara.
