The police say they are investigating the murder of a man whose name has been given only as Richard, 22 years, of Bonasika Creek, EBE, which occurred at about 1730h yesterday.
The police named the assailant as Davindra Persaud, 34 yrs, of Bonasika Creek.
Police say that investigations so far revealed that Joy Meyers, 27 yrs, ended a relationship with Davindra Persaud due to domestic problems. Police said that during the date and time mentioned above, Meyers and Richard were at home sleeping when Persaud entered the house armed with a cutlass and attacked Meyers severing her left wrist, and inflicted several wounds about her body.
The police said that Persaud then chopped Richard to his head and also severed his left wrist and fled. Richard and Meyers were taken to the Leonora Hospital, where he was pronounced DOA and Meyers was referred to the GPHC and admitted.
