Construction co’s bid to supply condoms

Two construction companies have submitted bids for the supply and delivery of male condoms for the Ministry of Health’s countrywide sensitisation awareness programmes on sexual and reproductive health.

The bids were opened with others on Tuesday’s at the National Procurement and Tender Administration Board (NPTAB) at its Main and Urquhart Streets office.

Orkon Construction submitted a bid of $29M, Manohar Services and General Contractors submitted a bid of $36,750,000 and International Pharmaceutical Agency submitted one valued at $25,515,000.

Meanwhile, a tender for the supply and delivery of field materials and supplies for the Health Ministry saw bids from the New GPC ($5,819,374), International Pharmaceutical Agency ($6,128,014) and Meditron Scientific Sales ($6,495,072).

For the supply and delivery of printed material, also for the Health Ministry, bids were received from Copy Right ($7,451,320), F&A Printery Establishment ($8,213,188), Print Right ($11,074,868), Metro Office and Computer Supplies ($8,026,330) and Pavnik Press ($14,790,696).

Bids were also opened for a Centralised UPS for the Guyana Office for Invest-ment, which saw submissions from Micro Design Techno-logy ($3,407,707), CCS Guyana Ltd ($3,035,016) and NT Computec ($3,956,973).

For the rehabilitation of the National Agricultural Research and Extension Institute(NAREI) stores building at Bartica, there was one bid from Dookchand Trading, which was pegged at $2,647,200. The engineer’s estimate for the project was $6,246,975. For work at NAREI’s Mon Repos branch, there were bids from M Surujpaul Construction and General Services ($3,597,550) and R Persid Construction ($6,499,185).

For the procurement of a double cab vehicle, for the office of the Region Eight Regional Executive Officer Ronald Harsawack, there were two bidders: Beharry Automotive ($7,403,064) and Associated Industries Limited (Ainlim) ($6,300,000).

Invitations for bids for the rehabilitation of the High Court fence saw submissions from Professional Auto Bodywork Establishment ($11,496,000) and Courtney Benn Contracting Ltd ($4,841,650). The engineer’s estimate was given as $4,599,100.

A lone bid was also opened for the repair and refurbishing of two fibre glass boats for the Guyana Defence Force. The $2,704,991 bid was received from Bass Fibre Glass, while the engineer’s estimate for the job was quoted as $3,278,700.
