Man found with ganja at Stabroek Market

A man was remanded to prison yesterday on a charge that he was found with a quantity of marijuana at the Stabroek Market.

Nigel Jackson, 41, of South Ruimveldt Park pleaded not guilty to the charge of trafficking in narcotics when it was read to him by Magistrate Leron Daley in Court 5 at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court building.

It was alleged that on December 4, at Stabroek Market, Jackson had in his possession 9.5 grammes of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking
No further details were given to the court.

Bail was refused after it was discovered that Jackson gave the police a different address from the one he had given the court and the case was adjourned until December 7.
