Shot Chinese man discharged from hospital

John Tian Xiang, who was shot three weeks ago while trying to prevent a robbery outside his aunt’s Regent Street store, was discharged from the Georgetown Public Hospital yesterday.

The 24-year-old Chinese national, of 45 Robb Street, Georgetown, was a patient of the High Dependency Unit of the hospital. He is said to be paralyzed from the waist down and had one of his kidneys removed as a result of his injuries.

The man was shot after he rushed to the aid of his aunt, Ling (only name given), when she was confronted by two men after they had closed the business located in the C&F Building.
