Drivers ordered to keep the peace after road row

An exchange of words after an overtaking landed two drivers on abusive language charges yesterday.
It is alleged that on December 11, Ryan Rodrigues and Trevon Pertab were both driving on the road when Rodrigues passed Pertab, which led to an exchange of words between the two men.

They both pleaded not guilty to the charges when they appeared before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.

They were subsequently placed on a bond to keep the peace and the case was adjourned until January 10, 2013 at Court 10.

Meanwhile, two lodgers of the East Ruimveldt night shelter were also placed on a bond to keep the peace yesterday after they too were arraigned before the Chief Magistrate on charges of using abusive language on each other.

Godfrey Hills and Ralph Peters both pleaded not guilty to charges that they used threatening language on each other.

The prosecutor had no objections to bail and asked that the two men be placed on a bond pending the determination of the case, which will also be called again on January 10, 2013, at Court 10.
