Licensed firearm holder catches two bandits

A licensed firearm holder on Wednesday went to the rescue of a man who had just been robbed and managed to hold the two bandits.

The police in a statement yesterday said that at about 1545h on Wednesday, O’Neil Fraser, 30 years, of North Ruimveldt, Georgetown, was in the vicinity of Quamina and Thomas streets, Georgetown, when two men rode up on a motor cycle.

Fraser was held at gunpoint by one of the men, who took away his Blackberry cell phone and gold chain, the statement said.

The licensed firearm holder who was in the area responded and arrested the two perpetrators before they could escape and the police were informed.  The firearm in their possession was found to be a toy gun and the stolen articles were recovered.

The two men are in police custody and charges will be made shortly.
