Aditya Foundation treats West Berbice children

Several children in the Bath Settlement area were treated to holiday goodies when the Aditya Kids Trust Fund Foundation (AKTFF) held a Christmas cultural show/party on Saturday and a Santa parade on Sunday.

On Saturday too president of the AKTFF, Archie Mohan and directors took the opportunity to hold an award ceremony for outstanding students of the organization’s library and classes.

Awards were presented to top students overall and top performers in reading while Rohini Jaipersaud, was presented with the student of the year award.

Members of the youth arm were also given awards for their special contributions during the year, including to the AKTFF clean-up campaign initiative.

Humanitarian services awards were also given out to a few persons including volunteers; Lana John-Seenauth, Juliet Dukhi and Inderjeet Persaud.
Mohan told Stabroek News that the presentation of the awards was the organization’s way of recognizing the efforts and contributions by persons and of encouraging them to keep up their good work.

He said the annual parade on Sunday that included Santa and his helpers, started from Bush Lot and ended at Ithaca with the distribution of toys, goodies and clothing. It was the organization’s way of bringing Christmas cheer to Berbicians.

Mohan expressed gratitude to persons and organizations for their financial contributions towards the parade, including Koshal Mohan and Q-Trex International Shipping.

He also thanked Regional Chairman, Bindrabhan Bisnauth for gracing the event on Saturday with his presence.

The AKTFF have assisted several persons [mostly children] financially to undergo surgeries for heart and other medical conditions.
The non-governmental organization has committed to making a difference in the lives of needy persons including those requiring surgeries.
It also supports academic and sport activities for youths especially from depressed communities.
