Missing GEA worker’s vehicle found vandalized

Almost a week after Guyana Energy Agency (GEA) Field Manager Levoy Taljit went missing, his vandalized vehicle was yesterday found on the Linden Soesdyke, Highway.

A police source told Stabroek News that ranks discovered Taljit’s Toyota Raum, PNN 8315, in a densely- area some distance away from the Splashmins resort on the highway. The last call made from the man’s phone had been traced to the highway, where searches had been done before yesterday.

When Stabroek News contacted Taljit’s family members for a comment yesterday, they declined to speak.

The police source stated that a number of articles, including a CD player, what appeared to be a GPS device and documents, were missing from the vehicle. Investigators, however, were unable to find fingerprints on the vehicle.

Taljit, 25, of Anira Street, Queenstown, was last seen on Sunday. He was wearing a burgundy-colored T-Shirt with faded blue jeans.

His family has asked that anyone knowing his whereabouts contact them on telephone numbers 226-0433, 226-7336, 666-4012 or to contact the nearest police station.
