Dear Editor, I observed in Kaieteur News of Friday, January 6, 2012 a letter was published captioned ‘The question of extrusion’ which I had sent for publication in early November of 2008. The re-publication of that letter took me by surprise and I am sure it must have taken Dr Suresh Narine and his staff at the Institute of Applied Science and Technology (IAST) off guard. To my mind what may have been of more significance was if Kaieteur News had taken time off to investigate the current production and use of clay products in the country. I do not know the views of the reading public on the issues raised. However, I would like to indicate that even though I have not been able to get the necessary evidence from the folks at IAST as to the claims made at that time, I am of the opinion that it is not important enough to occupy the pages of the national press again. Yours faithfully, Elton McRae

Dear Editor,

Many congratulations to the Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha which celebrated its 38th anniversary yesterday.

The celebration of an anniversary is a time for reflection, thanksgiving and looking to the future.

In Guyana and across the Guyanese diaspora the Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha under the illustrious leadership of my beloved Guruji, Pandit Reepu Daman Persaud continues to guide and mould the lives of thousands of Hindus. May this distinguished organisation and the guiding light of Guruji continue to grow and inspire the entire Guyanese community.

Best wishes to the Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha and every success as the 38th anniversary is celebrated throughout 2012.

Yours faithfully,
Ramesh Charan
