Waiting for written decision in pension matter before court

Dear Editor,

Approximately six years ago a group of former workers of Colonial Life Insurance Company (Trinidad) Limited had cause to place before the court a matter pertaining to the non-payment of pension monies. The eight workers would have served under the company a total of 102 years between them. This action was in no way connected with CLICO under the management which caused the collapse of the company which operated in Camp Street.

The court matter concluded 16 months ago and to date we have not received the written decision. We can proceed no further because of the lack thereof.

Varying excuses were offered. Regardless of the way the case was conducted, a written decision is necessary not only for our moving to the next level, but moreso for future references in the archives of the court.

One of the plaintiffs has since departed this world.

Yours faithfully,
Maureen Williams
