Headley should be included in the discussion

Dear Editor,

I would like to thank Dr Ian McDonald for his letter (‘Headley should be ahead of Bradman,’ SN, January 25) in response of my letter of January 22.

I must tell Dr McDonald, that I did agonize long and hard over whether to include or omit George Headley. Let me assure him that I am a George Headley admirer. However, I managed to conclude that his Test career may have been a bit too short to include him in the conversation as to who is the best batsman ever.

I thank him for his enlightening response and now concur that George Headley should be included in any discussion on who is the greatest batsman ever.

Yours faithfully,
Mark Bender
