Dear Editor,
The scheduled commencement of the arbitration proceedings on Tuesday, March 13th is another milestone for workers employed by the Bauxite Company of Guyana Inc (BCGI/ RUSAL) which has been earned through their consciousness that rights and the rule of law are essential elements in their day to day lives.
It is this understanding buttressed by a passion to protect their dignity and nationalism that drove their resoluteness to stand up for what they believe in.
Their determination over the three years have given new meaning to the belief that anything worth having is worth fighting for.
It is this determination that strengthened the resolve of the Guyana Bauxite and General Workers Union (GB&GWU) to continue prosecuting this matter. Together we supported and drew strength from each other. Come Tuesday with much anticipation and an abundance of energy we look forward to another phase in the struggle.
