GOA and AAG must respond to Ram’s allegation of no financial reports

Dear Editor,

I appeal to Mr K Juman Yassin, President of the Guyana Olympic Association and Mr Colin Boyce, President of the Athletics Association of Guyana, to go on record and prove that Mr Christopher Ram is totally wrong about sports administrations not producing financial reports. I make reference to the KN report on May 1, and Sportscope in SN on May 2, captioned ‘Ram’s legacy.‘ Despite my respect for what Mr Ram says, I honestly don’t want to believe that both the GOA and AAG are guilty of non-accountability.

As an organising member of the upcoming President /Jefford’s meet in Linden on May 20, it would be wise for Mr Boyce or his Public Relations Officer to address Mr Ram’s accusation about financial accountability. This could be done at the launching of the Linden meet on May 8, at 11 am at Digicel’s headquarters, Kingston.

Failure to address the situation highlighted by Mr Ram, will leave me as a sports enthusiast no alternative but to believe what he has said, and honestly, I don’t want to believe it.

Yours faithfully,
T Pemberton
