Police pensioners would like money back which was stolen from finance office in 2009

Dear Editor,

We, the police pensioners would like to congratulate Mr Leroy Brummell on his promotion to Deputy Commissioner of Police, also acting Commissioner of Police. We would like him to know that we are behind him on his stand against corruption in the Police Force as it makes us mad when we read or learn about it. In that same vein we are asking for some assistance from the acting Commissioner in getting our money (pensioners’ back pay) that was stolen from the finance office in December 2009. We have made several enquiries at the Finance Ministry and were given every assurance that the money had been paid back, but to date we have not received anything.
Every month we collect our pensions we are told that the Finance Officer has not told them anything.  It’s a small amount but we would still welcome same as it belongs to us.

Yours faithfully,
(Name and address provided)
