Greenidge is best qualified to be PNCR leader

Dear Editor,

A leader in my humble opinion should not merely be one who holds office. A leader is one who has vision and is a shining light who by example and stewardship effectively propels others to achieve collective goals and targets.

So said, our party, the PNCR is at a crossroads in national politics. The monumental renaissance is in no majority of a single party in Parliament, while the social emancipation of Linden leaves us in a period where a true leader needs to be chosen. This should be a highly skilled individual whose political track record and dedication, not only to the party, but to the nation as a whole stand head and shoulders above all so they are recognized as a stalwart of this nation. In my opinion, the only individual who is currently fit to wear this cap is Mr Carl Greenidge.

I can write volumes on the reasons behind the latter sentence. However I will highlight those particular reasons which left me with no doubt in my choice.

First, Mr Greenidge is a former Minister of Finance, Planning and Trade in Guyana. He has extensive experience at the policy, management and technical levels and has worked on public sector economics and agricultural policy as well as international trade and finance. He has provided distinguished service to his country, as well as the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) group of states. Therefore as party leader he can gear the party, as he has already been doing to a lesser degree, to better function as an opposing force to government malpractices.
Secondly, his grasp of Guyanese economic issues places him in good stead to exploit and suggest applications for funding not only within the party but the country as a whole.

Lastly, from all who know him, his ability to relate to all levels of society and have direct personal communication with everyone make him not only likeable, but effective when he communicates. This is a great trait for a leader and Mr Greenidge is certainly one.

The aforementioned are merely the tip of the iceberg as to why Mr Greenidge is the best candidate for Leader of the People’s National Congress Reform. Therefore I fully endorse Mr Greenidge for the leadership of the People’s National Congress Reform.

Yours faithfully,
