Percival takes 5 wickets for 1 run Including helmet-trick for Courtland

Heeralall Bridgelall and Riaz Imam produced outstanding performances to help Shieldstown defeat Number Three by 212 runs when the New Building Society second division limited overs competition continued recently in Berbice.

Batting first, Bridgelall slammed 90 in Shieldstown’s total of 261 for 8 off 35.

In reply, Number Three failed to cope with the bowling of pacer Imam who proceeded captured the first six wickets to leave them reeling at 26 for 6. He ended with 6 for 13.

Off spinner, Kumar Bridgelall, then mopped up the tail taking three wickets for four as Number Three were bundled out for 49 in 15.4 overs.

At Courtland, medium pacer, John Percival, picked up the first helmet trick of the competition. After conceding just one run from his first over for Courtland All Star against Kendall’s Union B,  Percival, without giving away another run, picked up two wickets from the last two balls of his second over and two more from the first two balls of his third.

He picked up his fifth wicket in his third over as Kendall’s Union B were shot out for 80.

In reply, Courtland All Stars reached 81-5 in 15 overs. Vishaul Persaud picked up 3-13.
