St Kitts make jump but Jamaica still in charge

NEW YORK, United States, CMC – St Kitts and Nevis were the biggest movers in the latest edition of the Caribbean Football Union rankings released yesterday, as Jamaica continues to rule the roost in the region.

St Kitts moved up two places into seventh spot in CFU, after jumping eight spots in the overall FIFA rankings.

Their progress in the rankings was largely due to their 1–0 defeat of Antigua and Barbuda in an international friendly in Basseterre last weekend.

Meanwhile, Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz, the reigning Caribbean champions, slumped four places in the FIFA rankings but remained atop CFU.

Their slip in the FIFA rankings comes despite three victories in the last month when they twice beat Cuba and also defeated New Zealand.

There are no major changes elsewhere in the rankings as French side Haiti remained second while Trinidad and Tobago’s Soca Warriors were third.

Antigua and Barbuda stay fourth despite plunging five places in the FIFA rankings while Guyana hold on to fifth spot though dropping seven places internationally.
