GRFU shortlists players for Southern Caribbean trials

The Guyana Rugby Football Union (GRFU) has shortlisted 30 players to participate in trials for possible selection on the team to the Southern Caribbean Qualifying Round of matches for Rugby World Cup 2015.

According to a press release, Guyana is scheduled to play Barbados on May 19 in Barbados and Trinidad on June 2 at the Providence National Stadium.

Positive results from those games could set the stage for a further game against the winner of the Northern Caribbean Qualifying Round scheduled for July.

The winner of the Finals of the NACRA RWC 15s Qualifier will go forward to the next Round of the RWC 2015.

The High-Intensity Training Programme for the games will be carried out under the supervision of Head Coach Theodore Henry and Fitness Coach Barrington Browne. All players are expected to be in the National Park by 16:30hrs on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays; for video analysis on Fridays and games on Saturdays from 15:30hrs in the National Park.

(Half Backs) Ryan Gonsalves, Christopher Singh, Leon Greaves, Peabo Hamilton ,Ryan Hinckson ,Lance Adonis .

(Backs) Ronald Mayers, Troy Bascom, Claudius Butts, Claude Alexander, Rodwell Hutson ,Blaise Bailey, Breon Walks, Kevin Joseph, Rickford Cummings, O’Neill Charles, Tristan Fraites, Danny Anderson and John Mars.
