EZjet flies into the list of sponsors for the Guyana Independence T20 Cup

EZjet Air Services has joined the list of sponsors for the Independence T20 Cup in a big way after presenting the organizers with a cheque for US$1000.00.

The Independence T20 Cup, is a joint fundraising venture by the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) and the Berbice Chamber of Commerce (BCC).

According to Rosalinda Rasul, Country Manager Guyana, she has been closely following the work of the BCB.

Rasul said her company was more than happy to support the tournament knowing that the BCB has joined with another outstanding organization, the BCC.

She indicated that EZjet will soon open a ticketing office at Rose Hall Town to serve the entire Berbice and said she was looking forward to the support for her airline from Berbicians so that EZjet can continue to support cricket and other charities.

The airline offers the lowest air fares for the entire year and provides Guyanese comfort and hospitality to passengers. EZjet has already attracted large support from Berbicians. Anil Beharry, chairman of the committee and treasurer of BCB, thanked EZjet for coming on board in such a big way. He said that not only EZjet has flown into the list of sponsors for the event but also in the heart of Berbicians and urged Berbicians to support EZjet when traveling to North America.

The tournament is billed for the historic Albion Sports Complex on Saturday and promises to provide quality entertainment for all patrons. It forms part of the celebrations to mark Guyana’s 46th Independence Anniversary.

Players such as West Indies Test player Devendra Bishoo, Veerasammy Permaul, Jonathan Foo, Andre Percival, Gajanand Singh, Paul Wintz, Rajiv Ivan, Sewnarine Chattergoon, Richard Ramdeen, Chris Barnwell, Brandon Bess and others will vie for cash prizes of over one million dollars.

Four teams, Universal DVD Berbice Titans, Karibee Rice Tigers, Hits and Jams Superstars and New Line Cavaliers will battle for supremacy.

Some of the other sponsors are Republic Bank Ltd, Poonai’s Pharmacy, Balram Shane of Rose Hall, Mursalene Bacchus, attorney at law, F&H Printery, J’S Supermarket, RHTY&SC, Gizmos and Gadgets and Charrandas Persaud, attorney at law.

Patrons will have an opportunity to win fabulous gate prizes including cell phones, mp3

players, Lazy Boy Suites and cricket gears among others.

The first match commences at 11am and the final will be played under lights.

Admission to the venue is $500 for adults and $200 for children. The gates will be open from 9am. Tickets will be sold only at the venue and patrons are urged to grab them before they are sold out because the co-coordinators do not want to experience overcrowding.
