Golden Jaguars reserve in 2-1 victory over Suriname Suripros

The Golden Jaguars second string team completed their participation in the Parbo Bier Cup tournament on Friday evening, with a 2-1 victory over Suriname side Suripros at the Andre Kamperveen Stadium following their 4-2 loss to Vitesse on Wednesday last.

Scoring for the team was Captain Anthony Benfield on a 50th minute penalty and striker Daniel Wilson in the 66th minute.
In the first game last Wednesday against Netherlands first division club side, Vitesse, the second tier Guyana side lost 4-2. Goals came from the boots of Benfield and Marvin Joseph.

These matches were a final test for the reserve players to push for a place in the main squad for the June 8th and 12th fixtures against Mexico and Costa Rica respectively.

The Guyana coaching staff on tour included Manager Lawrence Griffith, Coached Bryan Joseph and Joseph Wilson, Goalkeeper Coach Andrew Hazel  and Equipment Manager Earl Paul.
