Tutorial High School yesterday inflicted an 8-0 drubbing on Tagore Secondary to reach the Region 6 final of the Digicel Schools football tournament at the All Saints Ground, New Amsterdam.
Roy Reddock and Anthony Weekes both scored hat-tricks for the winning team.
Reddock scored his in the 19th, 22nd and 39th minutes while Weekes netted in the 53rd, 59th and 90th minutes.
The other two goals were scored by Nigel King and Selwyn Semple in the 61st and 79th minutes respectively.
Throughout the entire 90 minutes Tutorial High was in control of the match and it reached a point in the second half of the match when Tutorial’s goalkeeper left the 18-yard box just to get a chance to feel the ball.
Tutorial’s coach Sukahnauth Utan said that his boys were able to score eight goals because they played attacking instead of defensive football.
That trend, he said, will continue when they meet Berbice Education Institute in the Regional final tomorrow at the All Saints Ground. He opined that Tutorial and Berbice Education Institute were the two strongest teams in Region 6 and said he was confident that his team will be the better team.
Utan said that today his team will have their final practice match just to ensure that they have all their weak areas sorted out.
