Impressive Edghill reaches last 16

set to play number one seed today

Caribbean U-15 silver medalist, Chelsea Edghill, began her quest for regional honours at the Latin American Cadet Junior Table Tennis Championships on a strong note by reaching the last 16.

Playing in the championships involving the powerhouses of Latin America table tennis in the likes of Brazil, Mexico, Peru, Honduras, Guatemala, and Puerto Rico, Edghill, who is competing only in the individual events because of the lack of teammates, qualified for the knockout stage of the competition despite being seeded fourth in her group which comprised, Tathiane Pimentel of Brazil, Andrea Galeano of El Salvador and Maria Espinosa.

She defeated Galeano 3-0 and later yesterday afternoon she defeated Espinosa 11-7, 13-11, 10-12, 11-6.
