Elite bodybuilders in supremacy battle tonight at HRC show

By Emmerson Campbell

The crème de le crème of Guyana’s bodybuilders will be on show tonight when the third biennial Malta Supreme Hugh Ross Classic (HRC) Body building and Fitness Show is staged at the National Cultural Centre.

A dazzling display of rippling abdominals, well defined quadriceps and sculpted arms will be showcased when the best local bodybuilders battle for supremacy and the tag of Guyana’s top bodybuilder.

This year’s event promises to be of a higher standard than the previous classics since preliminary sub-meets were held and only the best musclemen and women will be on stage.

After receiving supplement packages from Fitness Express each of the competitors should be fully prepared to display their chiseled and well-toned physiques.

The musclemen will be placed in the four standard categories, namely: bantamweight, lightweight, middleweight and heavyweight and a category for women called the ‘female figure’ category.

Clint Duke
Alisha Fortune

The ‘female figure’ category will based more on being toned with proper symmetry as opposed to being ripped with muscles.
There will also be a male guest poser Brazilian, Andre Luiz Da Silva at the event.

Some of the bodybuilders who will be onstage include former Mr. Guyana, Clint Duke; reigning Intermediate Overall bodybuilder, Eybo Orford; reigning Ms Physique, Nadina Taharally; and two-time HRC female winner Track and Field Queen Alisha Fortune.

Other bodybuilders who will be on show include  Jermaine David, Alvin Goodman, Alston Lancaster, Abdul Shaheer, Melroy Grant, Raymond Rabindranauth, Devon Davis, Anthony Sukhu, Yogeshwar Nirmal, Travis Peters, Ronier Caesar, Michael DeSantos, Richard Bynoe, Delon Harlequin, Rawle Cole, Akeem Henry, Ryan Ceaser, William Ward, Marlon Bennett, Kerwin Clarke, Troy Paul, Charandeo Bhagwandin, Selwyn Grogan, Sean Sooklall Alfred Jordon, Andel Cameron, Shawn Henry, Samuel Dey and Dwayne Mars.
