RRT cycling programme set for National Park Saturday

Another cycling programme is set for Saturday around the inner circuit of the National Park. Sponsored by RRT Enterprises, the 11-race programme will be co-ordinated by cycling coiach attached to the Department of Sport, Hassan Mohamed,  and will be for cyclists of all ages.

The programme pedals off at 9am  and among the events to be contested are the 12 to 14 years boys and girls’ three-laps event, a BMX boys’ Open- three-lap  race, a veterans’ Under 50 years race over five laps, a BMX boys’ 12 to 14 years three-lap, Veteran over 50 yrs- five laps, BMX Boys nine to 12 yrs- three lap event, a veterans’ over 60 years five laps race and a BMX boys’ six to nine years race over two laps.

There will also be a juvenile race over a distance of 10 laps followed by the Schoolboys and Invitational race over 35 laps. The Upright/Mountain Bikes five lap race will close off the programme.

At the end of the programme prizes will be distributed by Manager/Director. R. Ramrattan of the RRT Enterprises to the respective winners.

According to Mohamed he is encouraging all the cyclists to participate and support the programme since it is beneficial for all ages. He also mentioned that the programme also helps with keeping individuals fit and healthy.
